The brides who have had their receptions at
Flat Creek Country club lately have been more adventurous in the cake designs. We like to do cakes out of the ordinary and make it special for the bride.
The black and white cake with the hint of green for the Waynick/Mucha wedding went perfectly with their invitations and the decor. It just happens that the carpet in the ballroom has the same green and black in it. It was just perfect for Flat Creek! I had to include a photo of the chair covers…as soon as I walked in the room I noticed the bows to the side. It had a wow factor and Theda was very proud of them!
We’re hoping we can get a better photo of the cake from the photographer, Chris Collins.
The Sroka wedding was a whirlwind of last minute planning. The bride was completing her residency in New York as a breast cancer surgeon. We’re wishing her some relax time now that it’s all over!!

Plumeria is my favorite flower in the world. Growing up in Southern California you’d see them once in awhile, but they are all over Hawaii. They are so simple and exquisite with a beautiful scent. I had to include this simple anniversary cake because of the beautiful plumerias Rachel made.

This is a party we would love to have witnessed! It sounded fun…posters, black lights, smiley faces…everything 70’s. And, of course, a cake to go perfectly. The gentleman ordered this for his wife’s party…we think he did a fantastic job!

Just have to say I’m a HUGE Olmpic fan and the Chinese have done an incredible job with these Games. As a fourth generation Californian, I was in LA for the 1984 Olympics and I never thought it could be topped….it has been and I doubt that it will ever be again. The opening ceremonies were mindblowing!
Have to admit this is the best television coverage for NBC keeping commercials to a minimum.
Hope everyone is rooting for the USA!!!! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

Should have had a “This is cake!” sign next to this….everyone thought it was a mini display golfbag. It took about three days to make, but we think it turned out pretty realistic!

Jaxon just celebrated his first birthday!! He was born two months premature,so his grandmother brought him a sock monkey to be with him while he was in the hospital and that little monkey has been with him ever since. We had to show you a close-up of him made out of sugar!!

We trekked up to Le Cordon Bleu (Kaci’s alma mater) for a demonstration put on by the Albert Uster Company. The demonstrator was the dashing Ewald Notter! This is Ewald and the showpiece he did for us.

Jon and Bethany both had their sixteenth birthdays on friday. They don’t know each other and have obvious differing tastes!

Sweet Sensations crew came through, again, with some edible artwork! Yes, everything on both cakes is edible.

Need to take time to brag about the awesome decorators at Sweet Sensations!!! We were closed for a week, so the week coming back was very busy. A couple of parties were postponed a week in order to have a Sweet Sensations cake!! What a huge compliment!!! Thank you!!!
Anyway, Rachel and Kaci rocked this week….we had a lot of time consuming cakes and they got the job done, and well!!! Not all the photos turned out (we’re going to work on getting a better “photo spot”), but here are a
couple.
Maggie celebrated her first birthday with a low country boil. Kaci happens to be from New Orleans, so she made the crawfish for the cake, naming him Boudreaux!
Keneshia’s baby shower cake duplicated the wallpaper in the nursery…so sweet!
Jaxon also celebrated his first birthday with his favorite sock monkey, Bobby! He and Maggie would make a really cute couple….. Rachel did an awesome job on this cake…as always. Unfortunately, the photo is AWOL!
