Zoe’s 1st birthday!
50th Anniversary
RedneckThis 21st birthday party was a Redneck theme…..since it was female, we thought a little femine touch would be in order. As always, everything on the cake is edible. Here is a close-up of the toilet made of sugar. The lid was used for the nameplate, tires “fence” in the “yard”, and the sign on the front of the cake reads, “You might be a Redneck if you use a toilet as a flowerpot in your front yard!”.
Thank you, Angie!Sweet Sensations received such a nice email from a customer, we had to share it with you. Angie picked up a cake for a male birthday to be shared at his “shop”. It was a bikini cake which is why we’re not showing the photo.
Hello Sharon,
I wanted to let you know that I gave my friend Lee, the Birthday cake on
Friday morning, he loved the “looks” of the cake. I didn’t get an
opportunity to taste the cake myself because he took it to work with him
but I would like for you to know that he called me later in the afternoon
and said that it was the best cake he had ever put in his mouth!!!!
He LOVED the lemon on the inside…… He said that the guys at work all
had seconds and it was “a hit” from looks to the taste.
Thank you for a job well done…. I will be sure that I pass the word.
Angie
Tears of joy…..
We don’t just bake cake at Sweet Sensations, we create edible art and we really try to get the design just right. So, when a cake is picked up everyone in the back has their ears wide open to hear the gasps of delight when the customer is presented their cake. This week was huge for great reactions….until….our most time consuming cake was seen. All our decorators had worked on this cake. The client brought in fabric swatches from the nursery and the invitation for the baby shower. The nursery is a very high end design and a tailored look. A lot of thought went into the design of the cake to give it the same feel. The guest of honor is a good client of ours, also…pressure was on.
The decorators in the back were just about in a panic because they heard no reaction coming from the front of the shoppe after the cake went out there. I had to go tell them she was speechless and had tears streaming down her face not to worry! We’ve always said the big gasp and OMG! was the best reaction…this beat it by a mile! We’re so happy she was so overcome.
Thank you for allowing us to use our vision for your special shower!
The Parker PlaceIn Luthersville there is new event center, The Parker Place, which is an old train depot behind a beautiful house with pastures of horses. It’s a venue that can be dressed up or down. The wedding we did, Longino/Willis, was pretty formal and it still worked. The inside of the old depot has whitewashed walls, so it’s brighter than you would expect.
Bonnie Parker is a lovely, gracious host who couldn’t be easier with to work. We, definitely, recommend it to any bride or anyone looking for a special occasion venue!
The wedding cake had a design on it to simulate the design on Holly’s gown. The yellow was the shade of the bridesmaid’s dresses. The “topper” is two, beautiful gumpaste roses we made just for the cake.
Red shoes….

Another fun weekend!
Tag is celebrating his third birthday and he loves Batman!

A dream bride is Kim Neely who lets us have fun with cakes. We do our best work when we can design something special just for the couple. This was an Art Deco theme and the groom is a retired Air Force F-16 fighter jet pilot!! The plane is completely edible, of course!
Here is a close-up of the F-16.

Another fun weekend at Sweet Sensations!
