Deco Awesome decorators!!

Need to take time to brag about the awesome decorators at Sweet Sensations!!!  We were closed for a week, so the week coming back was very busy.  A couple of parties were postponed a week in order to have a Sweet Sensations cake!!  What a huge compliment!!!  Thank you!!!

Anyway, Rachel rocked this week….we had a lot of time consuming cakes and they got the job done, and well!!!  Not all the photos turned out (we’re going to work on getting a better “photo spot”), but here are a couple.

Maggie celebrated her first birthday with a low country boil.  One of our staff happens to be from New Orleans, so she made the crawfish for the cake, naming him Boudreaux!

Keneshia’s baby shower cake duplicated the wallpaper in the nursery…so sweet!

Jaxon also celebrated his first birthday with his favorite sock monkey, Bobby!  He and Maggie would make a really cute couple…..  Rachel did an awesome job on this cake…as always.  Unfortunately, the photo is AWOL!

Deco Drums

This groom’s cake was a surprise from his mom to the groom.  Wish we could have been there for it!  This was held at The Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts.  If you don’t know about it…you can have your wedding reception or other events there.  Don Nixon has done a fabulous job with the Centre!!!  He is also an incredible designer…for those who didn’t know, he used to do work for Martha Stewart and many other well knowns.  Thank you for your help, Don!!

Deco Flat Creek Country Club

Just as we were about to load these cakes up, the sky opened up.  Luckily it didn’t last long and waited until after they were delivered to start up, again.    These were for the Underwood wedding.  The wedding cake had key lime curd for the filling, yummy with the vanilla cake.  The bride had a broach on her gown that we duplicated in sugar for the cake.

The groom’s cake was entirely edible (of, course!)….fishing lures and all.  It was chocolate cake filled with raspberry and chocolate bavarian creme!  He is a graduate of the Naval Academy, so we included that on the cake.

Flat Creek is a great wedding reception venue!  Theda is great to work with…very professional.  We did a cake she ordered that made her very happy.  As always, everything was edible!!

Deco Duplicating patterns

Amanda’s cake is on our website, but thought I should explain a little about it.  Her stepmother is Karen at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center.  They brought be the top Amanda was wearing when her fiance proposed, so we duplicated it on the wedding cake adding some sugar rose petals for a pop of color.  These are the cakes we’re in business to do!

Deco Weddings!!!

At Sweet Sensations we love weddings as much as doing first birthdays, sweet sixteens and everything in between and beyond!

We’re trying to get caught up on the blog, so we’re just going to include a handful here.

The apparent hit at the Dolce in Peachtree City was the R2D2 cake!  Here is what Cathy Hood from the Dolce wrote us:

“Hi Sharon, I just wanted to contact you to let you know what a great job you did on the groom’s cake this past weekend.  R2D2 was a huge hit! The groom was overwhelmed and did not want to cut him!  He reluctantly kissed him good bye and drove the knife into his scrumptious chocolate head.  You did an outstanding job.”

The Dolce should be very proud to have Cathy.  She is the ultimate professional.

The Cloudsdale/Lewisader wedding took place at Dunaway Gardens with the reception being held at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center.  The bride, Lucy, is such a doll and looked gorgeous!  Turned out that our next door neighbor at the shoppe, Linda, daughter was in the wedding.   Blue Lady did the flowers and Bob Shapiro was the photographer.  Bob is an icon in Newnan!

Deco Blog catch-up!

Lucky for us we’ve been way too busy to blog!!  We’ll make time from now on.  Our awesome customers have been so patient.  We know they want to see their cakes on here.  They all can’t be posted, but we’ll try to get as many as we can.

Some of the photos didn’t turn out terrific, but we received such nice notes we wanted them to be included.

Maggie Rivers is one of our regular, long time customers.  She turned five with a luau party.  Her mom, Sammee and I decided to surprise her with a Barbie hula dancer cake.  She loved it!!

Sammee sent a sweet note:   “Just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed the beautiful cake you did for Maggie’s party.  She loved it, and we had so many compliments on it.  ………  Not only was the cake beautifully crafted (and I do believe your cakes are works of art!), it tasted wonderful, too!  Thanks sooooooooo much!”  Sammee Rivers

Liam had the reptile man come to his party!  We made the snake on the cake out of sugar to look like the one on his invitations.  His mom also sent us a nice note:

“We all LOVED Liam’s birthday cake!  Thank you for telling me to go with the chocolate cake.  It was delicious.  The cake was my lunch on Saturday.  All the children loved the snake.  They all wanted part of  the snake.  I told them that Liam got the snake.

Thanks for making a great cake for his party.”

Here are a couple of baby shower cakes that were to be used on a cupcake tower.  The bunny duplicated their invitation.  Isn’t it adorable??
